Q

What are some anatomical considerations in maxillary anaesthesia?

A
  • Position of root apices (central incisors/canine-buccally, lat incisors- palatally)
  • crossover nerve supply
  • length of roots

10
Q

Describe the cortical plates of the mandible.

A
  • Buccal cortical plate v dense in adults
  • Labial cortical plate near incisors less dense+more porous and therefore allows infiltration

Q

Describe the body of the mandible

A

buccal side: thick cortical bone- anteriorly less thick, mental foramen
lingual side: thick bone, some cases lingual foramina located near posterior molar region and incisor region
