A

Do you have unusual responses to cold?
Do you develop rush when you are cold?
Do you have severe pain, numbness or colour changes of your fingers when exposed to cold?
Do you see blood in your urine after being cold?
Do you have any nerve damage in the area? pins and needles
Do you have any numbness or tingling in this area?
Do you have poor circulation in this area?

Preparation of the patient and application

A

Examine skin
Test skin sensation
Test outcome measure
Position 45° above heart level
Apply cold pack with one layer of damp towel
Hold in place with vecro and wrap with another towel
Treatment time 10-20 minutes every 1-2 hours
Remove cold pack, examine skin and test outcome measure
provide home advice

A

This is a cold pack treatment,you should a cool cold Sensantion,If you feel that the cold is too much or concentrated to one area,causing you to feel numb on the area please tell me as It could lead to tissue damage.During the treatment please don’t move or touch anything .
