Osmosis definition
A
Movement of water molecules across a partially permeable membrane from and area of high water concentration to low water concentration

Potato practical
A
1) cut up a potato into cylinders
2) place into beakers, one with pure water and the other with very concentrated sugar solution
3) measure the mass of the cylinders then leave for 24 hours
4) take out the potato and dry them
5) measure their masses
6) if they have drawn in water by osmosis the mass will increase but if water is drawn out they will have decrease in mass
