  • Adenyl cyclase catalyses cyclic AMP (2ndry mechanism)
  • aquaporin vesicles in cytoplasm fuse with cell membrane
  • aquaporins incorporated into membrane
  • water molecules move in line through pores into cell down pot. gradient
  • when intracellular cyclic AMP levels fall, aquaporins removed and accumulate in vesicles
