Osmoregulation Flashcards
1
Q
What is a negative feedback
A
Controlling the water potential of body fluids is an example of a negative feedback mechanism. If the concentration of the blood changes, the amount of ADH released changes to maintain a dynamic equilibrium. Nervous stimulation from the hypothalamus controls the amount ofADH released by the pituitary.

Q
What does ADH do in the collecting duct
A
ADH Makes the walls of the collecting duct permeable to water. Water leaves by osmosis and is carried away by capillaries
