Intermittent closure/collapse of the pharyngeal airway causing apnoea episodes during sleep terminated by partial arousal

Obese middle aged man - snoring or daytime somnolence

What investigations?
A
SaO2, video recording
Polysomnography (SaO2 and airflow, ECG during sleep_
15+ episodes of apnoea or hypo apnoea during 1h of sleep

What management for OSA?
A
Weight loss Alcohol reduction Stop smoking CPAP via nasal mask for mod/severe Surgery to relive pharyngeal or nasal obstruction
