What is interstitial lung disease?
A
Conditions affecting the lung parenchyma in diffuse manner
Chronic inflammation and/or progressive interstitial fibrosis

What are clinical features?
A
Dyspnoea on eversion
Non-productive parxoysmal cough (violent attack)
Abnormal breath sounds
Abnormal CXR/HRCT

Spirometry?
A
Restrictive pattern
FEV!<80%
FVC < 80%
FEV1:FVC > 70%

Pathological features?
A
Fibrosis and remodelling of intersititium
Chronic finflammation

How can ILD be categorised?
A
Known cause:
Occupational (absesotsis, cotton worker, silicosis)
Drugs (nitrofurantoin, amiodarone, sulfasalazine)
Hypersensitivity (pneumonitis)
Infection (TB)
GORD
Systemic disorder:
SArcoidsois
RA
SLE
Idioapthic
Idiopathic PF
