What are some POSTEROLATERAL hip precautions?
- no hip FLEXION greater than 90*
- no internal rotation
- no ADDUCTION (crossing legs)
What are some ANTEROLATERAL hip precautions?
- no external rotation
- no ADDUCTION
- no extension (hip)
What are some MINIMALLY INVASIVE hip precautions?
- there are no precautions b/c no muscle detachment is required and hip remains in a stable position
bone cells die because of poor blood supply
avascular necrosis
What does ORIF do?
pins, plates, rods, screws (weight bearing restrictions)
NWB
non-weight bearing
TTWB
toe touch weight bearing (pretend egg is under your foot)
