Q

What is punctuation and why is it important?

A

Punctuation marks boundaries between units of language: words, phrases, clauses and sentences. These boundaries are marked by spaces, capital letters, full stops and commas. Certain sentence moods specifically exclamative and interrogative moods, are indicated by exclamation marks and question marks. Punctuation also makes meaning clear to a reader.
