A small group of “3 to 9” of independent people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable

  • The breaking point for effectiveness is 10 members. 7 is optimal
  • Interdependency…The output of one individual is directly responsible for the teams output
  • Commitment to each other and goals
  • Mutual accountability…each member holds others accountable

Take responsibility for their own work, monitor their own performance, and alter their performance strategies as needed to solve problems and adapt to changing conditions.

Reward system is based on team performance
-Increased productivity, qulaity, flexilbity, customer satisfaction.
