What is the Fraternity’s supreme governing body?
The Grand Chapter
Identify responsibilities of the Grand Chapter, Board of Directors and Central Office Staff.
The Grand Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi is the supreme body of the Fraternity in which is vested all legislative powers and meets every two years. The Board of Director members are elected to office and provide interpretation of the Laws of the Fraternity. The Central Office is the national administrative headquarters of the Fraternity and coordinates and oversees the Chapter Management Program.
What is the difference between a LEAD School and a LEAD Provincial Conference?
LEAD Provincial Conferences are full weekend leadership events focusing on personal, professional, chapter operational and leadership training which includes an awards banquet and Provincial Council meetings during which proposed changes to Bylaws and Ritual are discussed and voted on.
LEAD Schools are leadership events that provide opportunities to build chapter operational, leadership and personal skills in an effective way while also having fun—programming complete on Saturday afternoon.
Describe the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation.
The Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation is the charitable giving arm of the Fraternity. It is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, gifts and donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. The mission of the Leadership Foundation is to financially support educational and charitable programs that enable members of Delta Sigma Pi to achieve individual and professional excellence.
What differentiates Central Office staff from volunteers such as Board of Directors or Regional Vice Presidents?
Board of Director members and Regional Vice Presidents are elected at Grand Chapter Congress. All elected and appointed Board members and RVPs volunteer their time to the Fraternity and are not compensated. Central Office staff members are hired and compensated employees of the Fraternity
