it is the enclosed internal body structure
for example: hair, skin and nails
Skeletal system is:
it supports the body and enables movement with the muscular system
for example: cartilage, bones and joints
Muscular system is:
it enables movement with the skeletal system an help maintains body temperature
for example: skeletal muscles and tendons
Nervous system is:
it detects and processes sensory information and activates bodily responses
for example: brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves
Endocrine system is:
it secretes hormones and regulates bodily processes
for example: pituitary gland, thyroid gland, pancreas gland, adrenal gland, testes and ovaries
Cardiovascular system is:
it delivers oxygen and nutrients to the tissue and equalises temperature in the body
for example: heart and blood vessels
Lymphatic system is:
it returns fluid to the blood and defends against pathogens
for example: thymus, lymph nodes, spleen and lymphatic vessels.
Respiratory system is:
it removes carbon dioxide from the body and delivers oxygen to the blood
for example: nasal passage, trachea and lungs
Digestive system is:
it processes food for the body to use and removes waste from undigested food
for example: stomach, liver, gall bladder, large intestine, small intestine.
Urinary system is:
it controls water balance in the body and removes waste from blood and excretes them
for example: kidney and urinary bladder
Male reproductive system is:
it produces sex hormones and gametes and delivers gametes to the female
for example: epididymis and testes
Female reproductive system is:
it produces sex hormones and gametes, supports embryo/fetas until birth and produces milk for infant
for example: mammary glands, ovaries and uterus
