Integumentary system
Protect tissues, regulate body temp, support sensory receptors. Ex: Skin, hair, nails, sweat glands
Skeletal system
Provides framework, protect soft tissues, provide attachment for muscles, produce blood cells, store inorganic salts. Ex: bones ligament and cartilage
Muscular system
Cause movements, maintaining posture, produce body heat. Ex: muscles
Nervous system
Detect changes, receive or interpret sensory info, stimulate muscles and glands. Ex: Brain, spinal cord, stimulate muscles a glands.
Endocrine System
Control metabolic activities of body structure. Ex: glands that secrete hormones, pancreas, testes, ovaries.
Cardiovascular System
Move Blood through blood vessels and transport substances throughout the body. Ex: heart, arteries, capillaries, veins.
Lymphatic System
Return tissue fluids in the blood, carry certain absorb food molecules, defend the body against infectio. Ex: lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, thymus, spleen.
Digestive System
Receive, break down, and absorb; eliminate unabsorbed material. Ex: mouth, tongue, teeth, salivary, glands, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small/large intestines.
Respiratory System
Intake and output of air, exchange of gases between air and blood. Ex: nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs
Urinary System
Remove wastes from blood, maintain water and electrolyte balance, store and transport urine. Ex: kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra.
Reproductive System
Males: produce and maintain sperm cells, transfer sperm cells into female repro tract.
Females: produce and maintain egg cells, receive sperm cells, support development of an embryo and function in birth process.
