What’s the Thoracic Cavity?
The most superior ventral cavity out of the two. Examples: lungs, heart, esophagus, trachea, thymus gland.
What are the two types of axial cavities?
Ventral and dorsal
What is the abdominopelvic cavity?
Part of the ventral cavity. ABDOMINAL: Stomach, liver, spleen, gallbladder, small and large intestine. PELVIC: Bladder, reproductive organs, rectum.
What is the dorsal cavity?
Contains cranial cavity and vertebral cavity. CRANIAL: Houses brain. VERTEBRAL: Spinal cord and vertebral column – central nervous system
What separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominopelvic cavity?
The diaphragm.
What are the four head cavities?
Oral, orbital (eyes), nasal, and middle ear.
