Define organisations change…
Organisational change is the adoption of a new behaviour or idea by an organisation. Changes could be; incremental (small/ongoing) or transformational (major). Organisational changes are the response by an organisation on change from the business environments around it. An organisation can be reactive or proactive when faced with change.
Why is it important that change is managed well?
It is important that change is well managed because if it’s not, it can result in employee unrest and dissatisfaction, or even the demise of the organisation.
In order to manage change well, a leader must be able to scan the environments, predict future trends, exploit change and be proactive as this can lead to greater.
What is change?
Change refers to any alteration in the internal or external environments of an organisation.
Dynamic nature…
The dynamic nature of the business environments means organisations need to adapt and change to stay competitive. Both the internal and external environments can put pressure on an organisation to change.

Employees
Corporate Culture
Policies
Factors from the operating environment that can be sources for change:
> Customers
Competitors
Suppliers
Interest groups
Factors from the macro environment that can be sources for change:
> Economic > Legal and political > Technological developments > Global > Social
What is the internal environment?
The internal environment of an organisation include factors and stakeholders inside of the large-scale organisation of which the organisation has a high degree of control over.
What is the external operating environment?
The external operating environment includes factors and stakeholders from outside of the business that directly affects or interacts with the organisation.
Technological development…
Technological development refers to advancements in the world of technology, the improvement of existing tech or the implementation of new technology.
As the use and development of tech. increases, organisations and employees experience dramatic changes to stay competitive.
