A

What is the time frame for the Initial Written Notification and Proposed action for discipline against a member?

A

A member shall be given Initial Written Notification within 75 days after the alleged infraction or complaint, or such time as the employer became aware.
Proposed Action will be served within 60 days of the Initial Written Notification.
A Member has a right to challenge the Proposed Action by notifying the Chief within 10 days.

What are the penalties incurred from the disciplinary conferences?

A

BFC conference- up to 72 hour suspension
DFC conference- 72-120 hour suspension
Trial Board- 120+ hour suspension, demotion, or termination

A

The member shall be placed on Administrative leave for 5 workdays, followed by Enforced Annual Leave, then Comp time, finally to Leave Without Pay.

Define an accident-

A

A crash, collision, or similar incident involving a moving vehicle resulting in property damage, personal injury, and/or death.
An incident is anytime a vehicle is damaged by means other then what has been defined as an accident.

Who requests an Accident Investigation Board(AIB), and who selects and serves on it?

A

The investigating BFC will determine the need for the AIB. The DFC Risk Management will select at least 3 BFC’s, one of which will serve as the chair. The AIB will also have at least 1 representative from the Apparatus Division and the Safety Office.
The boards findings will be referred to the DFC-RM within 14 calendar days so he may issue a final determination of steps to be taken
