Used for tasting and cleaning

Slit-like opening to the trachea

dark brown organ dominates the upper abdomen and has different lobes
Liver
First portion is the duodenum. Longer of the two and helps digest food from the stomach
Small Intestine
sac-like structure stores bile and releases it into the duodenum
Gallbladder
flat elongated gland which lies between the duodenum and the spleen
Pancreas
dark colored organ lies to the left of the stomach. Tied to the stomach by the greater omentum. Larger in cats than humans
Spleen
continuation of the esophagus lies on the left side in the upper abdomen. Breaks down food
Stomach
First portion of the small intestine that is a continuation of the pyloric end of the stomach (U shaped)
Duodenum
end of the ileum projecs into the caecum which is a tube that moves food and nutrients through (shorter of the two)
Large Intestine
Fine peritoneal membrane that holds the small intestine in place
Mesentery
