What NOTAM documents are to be reviewed prior to flight?

• The condition and suitability of the destination airfield.
• All head office and FIR NOTAMS for the route flown.
• GPS outages promulgated by NOTAM.
• Company NOTAMS promulgated on intranet
• Internal Company Notices (ICNs)

Question 2

Can RFDS plan VFR?

Answer 2

No, All flights to be conducted IFR unless authorised by OSP. The PIC will not accept a change to VFR if offered by ATC, nor an entry to an airfield via a VFR reporting point.

Question 3

What authorised WX forecasts are required?

Answer 3

Flights will obtain an airfield (when available) and GAF for the destination and alternate where applicable.

Question 4

When can you depart without a destination forecast?

Answer 4

• Provided the pilot is satisfied that present weather will allow the safe return of the aircraft within 1 hour of departure. The flight is permitted to continue to destination provided a destination forecast can be obtained prior to 30 minutes after departure.
• An alternate (with a firm forecast) is planned.
