Right on Right sacrum. give L5 diagnosis
L5 neutral, rotated left, sidebent right
Left on Left sacrum. give L5 diagnosis
L5 neutral, rotated right, sidebent left
what is the rule of L5 for sacral torsions
For sacral torsions, the rules for L5 state that it rotates opposite the sacrum and sidebends towards the oblique axis.
what is a myofascial trigger point
Myofascial trigger points and hypertonic bands of muscle tissue that refer pain in a predictable pattern when palpated;
what are chapman points
described as discrete palpable tissue texture changes that correlate to a visceral structure; pain doesn’t radiate when palpated
what are somatovisceral reflexes
occurs when nervous system input from a somatic structure causes changes in segmentally related visceral structures. An example of a somatovisceral reflex is when spasm of low back muscles causes constipation by up-regulating the sympathetic outflow from T12-L2 to the colon
Spurling’s test
Spurling’s test is performed by extending and sidebending the C-spine toward the side being tested and applying compression; evaluate narrowing/stenosis of the cervical foramina which can cause cervical radiculopathy and referred pain
