Predestination is the idea that God knows or determines everything that will happen in the universe
What are the problems with the belief of Al-Qadr?
- It does not seem fair to judge humans based on our actions if everything is part of Allah’s plan
- How can humans have proper free will if everything is planned by Allah
What is Shia’s solution?
God knows what will happen but it doesn’t mean that he decides
What is Sunni’s solution?
Allah is logical
If a mother gives a child a bowl of peas or ice cream, she knows he will pick ice cream. He doesn’t choose it
How does Al-Qadr help Muslims?
They accept suffering as it is part of God’s plan
