What is the first duty of Muslims?
To declare their faith to Allah
How is the foremost declaration of faith significant?
Because the first thing Muslims do in life is to declare their faith, which means it is significant above all else
What are the words of the declaration of faith?
‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet’
What is the first and last thing whispered in a Muslim’s ear?
The declaration -> ‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet’
What is the worship of idols deemed as?
A sin

What are the six beliefs of Sunni Muslims?
- Allah - there is only one god
- Angles - they communicate the message of God to humans
- Prophets - Muhammad is the most important prophet
- Holy Books - the Qu’ran is the most important writing and the highest authority in Islam
- The Last day - The Day of Judgement is when all humanity will be judged by God and sent to heaven or hell
- Supremacy of God’s will - means God already knows and makes everything happen
What are the five beliefs of Shi’a muslims?
- Tawhid - God is One
- The Justice of God - God is just and wise and cannot do wrong, holds humans accountable for their actions
- Prophethood - accepting Muhammad is the last prophet and that God’s revelations through him are true
- The Imamate - the 12 Imams are the leaders of Islam and guard the truth of religion without error
- Resurrection - after death, you will be resurrected and judged by God
What differentiates the two types of Muslims?
Shias believe that Ali should have been leader and that Abu Bakr wrongfully took power.
Sunnis find these beliefs offensive and respect all the companions and wives of Muhammad.
