Q

What is teamwork and how does it relate to SAR?

A

The definition of teamwork is the combined efforts, or the actions of 2 or more people, to achieve a common purpose or goal.

SAR consistently works together to complete tasks weather it is carrying a victim down from an avalanche or working together to hoist a victim in the litter carry of the helicopter or even as simple as helping each other to find the location of the victims coordinates.

Q

Rescues based on weather and nightfall

A

In order to increase safety and avoid significant weather and night helicopter rescues- we will strive to use the advantage of daylight whenever possible. Some rescues that begin at night, but are not serious or life threatening, may be postponed until daylight hours to enhance safety if a helicopter is preferred.
