Identify operational characteristics
Completeness - must contain pertinent intel, contingencies, and personnel assignments
Flexibility - must be flexible to allow for unforeseen circumstances
Simplicity - simple enough that team members can remember responsibilities
Identify two types of responses
Immediate - decisions made spur of the moment. Exposes agents to higher level of risk, particularly in arrest or search situation
Planned - time is on officer’s side. Ability to gather vital information, analyze the information and use intel to create ops plan
Identify the four types of intelligence
General - info gathered during the course of an investigation
Personal - any and all information available on a subject and any/all associates
Geographic - neighborhood, residences,businesses and other locales that surround the area of operation
Other sources of info - local LE, databases
Writing an operational plan
Mission statement - includes case number, synopsis, type of op
Contingency plan - failure to breech, fleeing subjects

Equipment considerations
Personnel/equipment assignments
Comms
Other agency coordination
