(The Jerusalem Factor, page 28)

55
Q

Three Prevalent Fears You Will Face As A Soul Winner

84
Q

Look For The Other Person
- “The most important aspect of regularly winning people to Christ is to always be ready to win those who cross our path - those whose hearts have been prepared by the Holy Spirit.” (page 94 in The Jerusalem Factor).

(The Jerusalem Factor, page 93)

85
Q

What 3 rules does David Wood keep in mind when looking out for the other person?

A

1) Recognize that every human will spend eternity somewhere.
2) Embarrassment and fear can make us talk about religion but never push personal salvation. Understand that it is your right to make a clear Gospel presentation and to “confront” the person with the need for salvation. Many times Jesus turned to those He had just forgiven or healed and simply stated “go tell…”
3) Believe God for the power of the Holy Spirit. Claim His fullness before going out and then before making a presentation.

(The Jerusalem Factor, page 98)

Q

What is Lesson Ten in The Jerusalem Factor?

A

Who’s Job Is It Anyway?
1) Each of us has been given the ministry of reconciliation. This is why we are called ambassadors for Christ. It is our task as Christians to give the Gospel to anyone at any place at any time as we are able.

2) It is the Holy Spirit who takes the message and convicts the heart and it is God who gives the increase - not us.

(The Jerusalem Factor, page 111)

94
Q

What is soul winning described as being in chapter 3 (Lesson 10) in The Jerusalem Factor?

A

“Soul winning is … using a clear presentation of the Gospel and letting the Holy Spirit have the freedom to operate through our witnessing.”

(The Jerusalem Factor, page 117)

95
Q

What one word does David Wood recommend one consider if they have a fear that they will be asked a question that is too hard for them to answer resulting in them becoming a stumbling block to the person to whom they are witnessing?

A

Simplicity
- Always remember that you are the soul winner. Your job is to lead a person to Christ. You are not there to answer Bible questions or to straighten out their lives or religious affiliations. All those things may need to be done but they come after salvation. And not before.
- Consider I Corinthians 2:14.
- A man must be saved in order to be spiritual; he needs to be saved before he is discipled.
- Let the Holy Spirit do the heavy lifting; you keep it simple: remember the acronym KISS:
Keep It Simply Salvation.

Q

What illustration does David Wood recommend using as a technique in Step #5 of The Soul Winning Plan to remove all false hopes of Heaven?

A

After you finished explaining “wages” and “death” in Romans 6:23, close your Bible and say “let’s pretend for a minute that this is all the Bible has to say about that - that we are all guilty of sin, and the penalty is death - eternal hell. We don’t want to go to hell so we are going to come up with a plan to keep us out of hell, and allow us to go to Heaven.” Then proceed to ask your partner, yourself and your prospect if any of the following ideas would work:
1) Church attendance or membership
2) Baptism
3) Good deeds and/or less bad deeds
This should illustrate that none of these will work.

- “That’s wonderful …”, or
- “That ‘s great, that’s wonderful …”
Then: Give your personal testimony (about 90 seconds).

- You are “Qualifying Your Prospect”
(Is he saved or is he lost?)
- Then respond POSITIVELY with a smile on your face.

Step #3 of the Soul Winning Plan

“Could I take just a moment and show you how you could know for sure?” Or,
“Could I take just a moment and show you a few verses that showed me how I could know that I would go to Heaven when I died?”

  • As you are asking this question you should be taking out your pocket New Testament and turning it to Romans 3:23 (you are anticipating a “yes”)

(The Jerusalem Factor, page 132)
