TAO - Tactical Actions Officer
Responsible for defense of the ship, weapons release authority other than CO
ADWC
Air Defense Weapons Coordinator- receives reports from IDOP, passes reports to TAO, in charge of the air picture
AIC
Air Intercept Controller - Sets up F/A 18 for dogfights and maintains close advisory control of the aircraft
TIC
Tactical Information Coordinator - Manages data links to extend tactical picture, maintains comms, Link 11 (alligator) Link 16 (timber)
IDOP
Identification operator - Idβs air contacts and reports them to ADWC, uses IFF to ID air contacts within CVIN operating area
Modes of IFF
Platform, Positive ID, Mission, US military, Altitude
ATM
Auto Track Manager - Same as IDOP but with capability to manipulate radars
Striker Controller
Manned during flight ops, checks aircraft modes of IFF, safety of light, controls briefs alerts aircraft
Surface Tracker
Tracks surface contacts
TOP
Tactical Operations Plot - acts as a liaison between bridge and CDC, primarily responsible for surface tracking, located behind the bridge on the 09, Location of the DDRT
Lookouts
correlates lookout info on surface and air contacts to determine targetβs course, speed, and CPA
EWS
Electronic warfare supervisor - Located in EW module, supervises the collection and display off all electronic warfare information and rapid dissemination of all threat emitters, assumes the role as Electronic control ship (EWCS)
ASTAC
Anti Submarine Tactical Air Controller - controls helos to hunt for summaries
SCAC
Sea Combat Air Controller - Controls Helos to VID unknown surface contacts in the CVIN operating area
ASTAB
Automated Status Board - Provides info including events, call signs, etc.
WQC-2
Gertrude - comms with subsurface , not for transmitting classified info
AN / SLQ-25 Nixie
Torpedo countermeasure system. 2 onboard. If Nixie fails, ship will try to outrun torpedo

Sweep, pulse, alternate, noise
AN / SLQ-32
primary mission is ASMD (anti-ship missile defense) second mission is indications and warnings. Active and passive system used for threat detection, analysis, jamming.

Makes it difficult to tract close contacts
