Q

What field are exercises and for what purpose have they been carried out?

A

The first IFE took place in Kazakhstan in 2008 (IFE08) at the former soviet nuclear test site of Semipalatinsk. This was the first opportunity for CTBTO to practice all elements of an inspection together as one integrated process.

More recently this took place in Jordan in 2014 (IFE14).
