onlay delivery Flashcards
indirect restoration delivery
1) extra oral assessment
2) intra oral assessment
- CIMOE
3) cementation
- restoration prep
- tooth prep
extraoral assessment
1) assess on working die and model that was poured up or 3D printed from final impression or digital scan
2) unless you are doing in house restoration
- assess with software
3) proximal contact
- location, size, tightness
4) margins
- no voids, discrepancy, no rockiness, no overhangs or ledges
intraoral assessment
1) THROAT PACK
onlay cement for LDS onlay
1) which cement
- NX3 Dual Cure (ARC)
- RelyX Unicem (SARC weaker bond, not good for onlay)
2) what class
- ARC > SARC
onlay cementation for zirconia onlay
1) how to make it bondable
a) AlO sandblasting + rinse with water + 10 MDP +adhesive (more common)
b) Siljet (silicatization) sand blasting + air + silane + adhesive
onlay cementation for gold onlay
1) any cement because there are retentive features
- cheapest is relyX unicem
side notes about zirconia
1) salivary phosphate inhibit primers
2) proteins and lipids have great affinity to it
3) must be cleaned but NOT with phosphoric acid
- it will bond to zirconia receptor sites
- can be used to clean LDS
restoration prep
1) apply HF
2) wait 10 sec
3) rinse
- careful when rinsing
- suction or wipe off first
4) silane (sticks silica to resin)
- apply two layers
- wait 60 sec
- air thin no water
5) apply prelude
- black adhesive to the restoration (shield it)
isolation
1) rubber dam
tooth preparation
1) pumice
2) selective etch!!!!!
3) primer 15 sec
- air thin
4) adhesive, link
5) cementation
adjustment
1) floss and check occlusion
2) do not create too many microfractures
- adjustments need to occur intraorally
3) polish it well so that the opposing enamel is not worn down
