One-way ANOVA Flashcards
1
Q
Why would we use a 1 way ANOVA?
A
1 factor, 2 levels
2
Q
What is a bonferroni correction? Why is it needed?
A
Bonferroni corrections are applied to post hoc tets eg. t tests
- needed as with 3 condition = 3 t-tests= larger chance of error as each test has 5% chance
5% x 3 = 15% chance of error
so, we must divide the alpha (p value) by 3 to account for this
(if there were 4 conditions we would divide by 4)
3
Q
When would we run post-hoc tests?
A
if the ANOVA is significant
