1

Q

Between groups factorial ANOVA

A

4 groups - each do only one level of one factor

  • find marginal means for FACTOR 1 by looking at mean for group 1(factor 1 level 1) and group 2(factor 1 level 2)
  • find marginal means for FACTOR 2 by looking at mean for other group 1(factor 2 level 1) and group 2 (factor2 level2)

Q

Interaction is significant - what do we do?

A

bonferroni corrected post hoc tests

if main effects are significant in a 2x2 ANOVA there is no need for post hoc tests

Q

Define interaction

A

looks at differences between the groups means - we could look at this using a bar or line graph
there will be a different pattern in the data for level 1 compared to level 2 of factor 2 in level 1 and 2 in factor 1
