Q

MIlestone

A

A task with zero or instant duration. Used as markers in a project to set up production points, tasks or moments of synchronization, dates of billing or reporting, and markers or junctions of results.

Q

Lag

A

Duration or a percentage that expresses a period of time that has to elapse before a dependency between two tasks can take effect.

Q

4 Dependency Types

A
  1. End to start: the most common. The start of an element depends on the end of its predecessor.
  2. Start to start: The start of an element depends on the start of another.
  3. End to end: The complete achievement of one element will depend on the end of it’s predecessor.
  4. Start to end: The end of one element will be synchronized with the beginning of another.

Q

Calendars

A

Shows the range of dates during which a task cannot be performed or during which some resources will not be available.

Capacities are calendars and coefficients that can be applied to tasks and resources.

Q

Coefficient

A

A set of values applied to tasks or resources to stimulate the impact of events or factors which will affect feasibility / availability or efficiency [Productivity]

Coefficients reduce the capactity of a resources or the feasibility of a task.

Follow probabilistic rules, because one doesn’t always know when somone is going to be ill [Sickness] or when weather conditions for example will prevent a task from being carried out.
