Presentation
A
Wafer 4mg orally dissolving tablet IV 8mg in 4mL glass ampoule IV AT SLOW PUSH OVER 30 SECONDS

Primary emergency indications
A
- Undifferentiated nausea and vomiting
- Prophylaxis for spinally immobilized or eye injured patients
- Vestibular nausea in patients <21 years of age

Contraindications
A
- History of hypersensitivity
- Concurrent Apomorphine use
- Known Long Q-T syndrome
- Hypokalaemia or hypomagnesamia

Precautions
A
- Patients with liver disease should not receive more than 8mg/day
- Care taken with patients on diuretics who may have an electrolyte imbalance
- Ondansetron contains aspartame and should not be given to patients with phenylketonuria
- Concurrent use of Trimadol
- Pregnancy

Dissolving tablet
Onset: 2 minutes
Peak: 20 minutes
Duration: 120 minutes
IV Onset: 5 minutes Peak 10 minutes Duration: 2.5-6 hours. IV at SLOW PUSH 30 SECONDS
