1. Pre-existing renal disease/impairment
2. Concurrent use tetracycline antibiotics
3. Exceeding total dose of 6mL in 24 hours.
4. Personal or family history of malignant hyperthermia
5. Muscular dystrophy

1. Penthrox inhaler must be handheld so it will fall from patients face if unconstions
2. Pre-eclampsia
3. Concurrent use with oxytocin may cause hypotension

Commences after 8-10 breaths
Lasts for 3-5 minutes once discontinued
One 3mL dose provides 25 minutes of analgaesia.
