shows the sea to be not violent at all here as it cant even move a small shell. therefore representing the mind and how it can be threatening and non threatening at the same time.

linking to the industrialised world - people are too stressed that they dint appreciate nature which is seen as a healing balm.

this is the real solution to modern day problems- sit by the sea and something good and interesting will happen.
