VISUAL MANOEUVRING - minimum MDH and VISIBILITY
MDH 600ft
VIS 2400m
Minimum runway width:
45m
For what reasons should a take-off alternate, other than the departure aerodrome, be selected?
For meteorological or performance reasons
TAKE OFF ALTERNATE - for a two engine aeroplane, it should be no further than:
- one hour flying at one engine inoperative cruising speed
- ETOPS diversion time, up to a maximum of two hours, ate the one engine cruising speed
SATA selects at least one _____ for each IFR flight, unless the destination aerodrome is an ______, or _______ and _______.
Destination WX forecast at ETA +/-1h will be:
- destination alternate
- isolated aerodrome
- the remaining flying time to the destination does not exceed six hours flight
- two separate runways are available and usable.
- ceiling at least 2000ft or circling height + 500ft (whichever is greater) and visibility at least 5km.
When will SATA select TWO destination alternates?
- When weather reports/forecasts indicate that at ETA +/- 1h, weather conditions will be below PLANNING MINIMA, or
- No WX information is available
A conversion from meteorological visibility to RVR/CMV should not be used:
- When reported RVR is available
- For calculating take-off minima
- For any RVR minima less than 800m
