  • Electricity cables buried underneath the ground
  • Construction of bridges and waterways to improve access

Since the Olympic games it was transformed. It now contains:

A
  • Excellent modern sports arenas e.g Olympic Stadium, the Aquatics Centre and cycling velodrome
  • A landscaped park + tourist attractions and natural habitats
  • The Athletes’ Village now converted into housing for local people + 5 new residential communities planned by 2030
  • Improved aquatic environment, with footpaths and cycleways
  • East Village, a new community with 2800 homes, shops, cafes and a school for 1800

  • Collecting rainwater and recycling water for use as ‘grey water’ in the house, at work and for community services e.g watering parks and golf courses
  • Using biomass for electricity and heating
  • Using green roofs to harvest rainwater and grow food + look attractive
