Q

Go around

A
  • Full power, promptly but smoothly
    - Add right rudder as needed
    - Anticipate a sudden, excessive nose pitch-up moment and the need for forward yoke pressure
  • Adjust pitch attitude to level flight or a slight climb but keep airspeed increasing
    - Do not pitch for too much climb yet if airspeed is insufficient!
  • Flaps - Immediately retract to 20°
  • Climb Speed - 60 KIAS
  • Flaps - 10° (as obstacle is cleared)
  • Flaps - UP (after a safe altitude & 65 KIAS)

Spin recovery

A
  • Power - idle
  • Ailerons - neutral
  • Rudder - apply fully in the opposite direction of the spin and hold until rotation stops
  • Elevator - push the yoke forward enough to break the stall
    • Once rotation stops, neutralize the rudder and make a smooth recovery from the resulting dive with yoke back pressure
