What happened in the oka crisis?
A
- mohalk indians ser up a blockade to prevent bulldozers from breaking ground for a golf course that would be built on a native burial ground that belonged to them
- police came to tear blockade down and it became a gunfire range from both sides
- police officer was shot and killed
- natives at a near by reserve erected a blockade to support the other mohawk indians
- lots of violent acts- army had to come in
- the mohawk Indians surrendered and most of the leaders were arrested
