Power Available - there should be a 3” margin between straight and level at 60KIAS and max Take Off Power

Altitude for Orbit - make right orbit 500ft AGL and 500 ft horizontally from the spot. Look for 4 spots to overfly to keep consistent orbit track. Orbit at 60KIAS.

A

Wind - Use crab angle to determine direction and speed.
Look out for indicators on the ground - trees, smoke, flags
Crosswind - Spot moves behind
Downwind - Spot comes abeam (moving forward)
Base - Spot moves in front
Upwind - Spot moves abeam (moving backward)

Beware of wind shift at different altitudes.
