What is the difference between Coated VICRYL and Coated VICRYL RAPIDE sutures?

A

Coated VICRYL- general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, used in ophthalmic procedures.

Coated VICRYL RAPIDE- use in superficial soft tissue approximation of the skin and mucosa, where only short term wound support (7-10 days) is required.

Extremely technique sensitive
