What happened in June 1917?
The coalition government launched a military effort to end the war and bolster Russia’s power but instead caused 200,000 deaths and was a military disaster. Soldiers deserted - this brought support for Bolsheviks.

The military failure fueled an uprising.
What were the July Days?
Enraged by the events of June, between 3-5 of July soldiers, workers and sailors took to the streets, condemning the PG and demanding soviet takeover. Lenin failed to act and the uprising was quelled.
