Gaulladet walked and saw little girl alone away from all the many children playing. Gaulladet tried speaking to her but little girl was Deaf and could not hear him.

Gaulladet wanted to teach Alice but knew there was no school for Deaf people in America
Alice’s father was a doctor and asked Gaulladet because he wanted a teacher for Deaf school
