What is occupational health?
It is the promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations by preventing departure from health, controlling risks and the adaptation of work to people, and people to their jobs.
Accident prevention programmes depend on three essentials which include?

Safety
A set of behaviours which is usually tailored towards improving on the way things are done at the work place.
Hazard
- Anything / situation with the potential to cause harm
- A work place condition or a worker action that can result in injury, illness, or other organizational loss / property damage.
Risk analysis
the process of determining what decisions are appropriate to protect a system or environment from harm/adverse effects
Accident
any unplanned event that results in injury or ill-health of people, or damage or loss to property, plant, materials or the environment.
