Acute respiratory infections
Skins and eye diseases ( eg. trachoma)
Ring worm (tinea corporis)
What are water-based diseases?
These are diseases caused by parasites found in intermediate organisms living in contaminated water.
What are water-washed diseases?
They are diseases caused by poor personal hygiene and skin and eye contact with contaminated water.
Water borne diseases
They are diseases caused by ingestion of water contaminated by human or animal faeces or urine, which contain pathogenic microorganisms
What is Air Pollution?
It is the introduction of particulate, biological molecules or other harmful materials into the earth’s atmosphere, causing diseases, death to humans, damage to other living organisms such as animals and food crops or to the natural or built environment.
Primary pollutants

Nitrogen oxides
Carbon monoxides
Volatile organic compounds
Particulate matter
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
