gallstones, head of pancreas tumour, cholangiocarcinoma, liver flukes, portahepatis lymphadenopathy, chronic pancreatitis and Mirrizi’s
What is mirrizi’s syndrome?
Mirizzi’s syndrome is a rare complication in which a gallstone becomes impacted in the cystic duct or neck of the gallbladder causing compression of the common bile duct (CBD) or common hepatic duct, resulting in obstruction and jaundice.
What are liver flukes?
parasites in the liver or bile ducts
What are the complications of obstructive jaundice?
hepatorenal syndrome, portal hypertension
