What are the RF for prolapsed umbilical cord and what is it’s management?
A
- breech presentation
- malposition
- preterm labor/PPROM
- artificial ROM
- polyhydramnios
- IUGR
- second twin.
Mx - immediate LSCS delivery In wait - knee-chest position - handle cord as little as possible - insert hand in vagina to lift presenting part

What are the RF for shoulder dystocia
A
it’s A DOPE
- advanced age
- diabetes
- obese mother
- post dates
- excessive weight gain.
- history of dystocia
- high parity
- prolonged first stage of labor
- instrumental delivery

What are the RF and complications of uterine inversion, and what is it’s management.
A
excessive/inappropriate premature cord contraction
- abnormal placentation
Complicaitons
- blood loss
- vasovagal shock
- ischemia/necrosis
Mx
- restore shape with fist, while still running tocolytics
- when back in shape, stop tocolytics and administer syntocinon without removing fist until uterus is well contracted.
- if fails: surgery.
