What is reliability?
Reliability is all about consistency. It is when a pice of research could be repeated to get the same or similar results
How can we reduce bias from qualitative data?
We can use inter-rater reliability
What is validity
Validity is all about the truth. It is whether the research measures what is intends to measure.
What is a sample?
A fraction of the population that could represent the general population.
What is random sampling?
A group of people that are chosen in no particular order with all the people having an equal chance of being chosen
What is opportunity sampling?
People who are there at the time and fit the criteria
What is self selected sampling?
The requirement of participants is flamboyantly advertised. Participants volunteer and agree to participate if they fit the criteria.
Why is it important to adhere to ethical guidelines?
To ensure that all participants are protected. This will give psychology a good name meaning more participants will take part in the future, participants are vital for psychological research.
