Treatment problems for obese patients

long procedures lead to acute leg odema, cellulitis, pressure sores
cogulation abnormalities - non alcoholic fatty liver disease
excessive fat in the tissues may affect pharmocologial absorption of drugs
Dental implications
higher caries risk
increased tooth wear - GORD
delayed wound healing due to reduce immune function
GDP advise for obsese patients
ingestion of a healthy balanced diet
stimulate salivary flow to avoid dry mouth
brush tongue or use tongue scraper to avoid hallitosis
porvide topical fluoride varnish
adequate OH
avoid tooth wear
increase consumption of food rich in fibre
never brush teeth after vominting
