under certain situations most people will obey orders that go against their conscience and will obey an unjust command

it doesnt take an evil person to commit an evil act but pressure to obey and the situation may explain the holocaust

Ps were told that there was a 50/50 chance of being learner or teacher but really a confederate played learner and actual p was the teacher
The teachers role was to shock the learner everytime they gave an incorrect answer - no shocks were actually given but the p believed that they were
The shocks started from 15v and increased by 15v increments upto 450v
if a p hesitated to administer the shock they were given prods from the experimenter to continue

to see whether ordinary americans would obey a figure of authority when told to harm another person.
