Define the Nursing Process
A systemic, organized method of practicing nursing
What is the Nursing Process’s main goal?
to coordinate patient’s care
What steps of the Nursing Process falls under the LPN’s responsibilities?
Planning, implementation, and evaluation
Differentiate between subjective and objective data
Subjective data is abstract, or not visual it is physiological; objective data is visible as in a rash or swelling
What role does nursing diagnosis fall under?
It is the RN’s role legally
Define Implementation
putting a plan into action; implementation is constant and usually involves physicality (i.e. repositioning)
What is a Care Plan?
The result of implementation, planning and evaluation
What is a Care Plan’s purpose?
To provide a way integrating nursing, health, medicine, to communicate PT’s info with other care team members and to encourage quality, consistent care
Describe the multidisciplinary (collaborative) care plan
LPN and Rn work together to achieve a plan geared towards PT’s, health/highest quality of care including but not limited to communicating PT’s updates amongst relevant team members
What is the major difference between the nursing process and the scientific method?
Nursing process: assess and research then gather data then identify problem
Scientific method: identifies problem then researches and gathers data
Well-written outcomes, including patient input if at all possible, must have what characteristics?
They must be measurable, realistic, observable, and time
