Acute Coronary Syndrome
Sudden reduction or blockage of blood flow to the heart

Initial psychological relationship that develops between parents and the neonate
Bradycardia
Slower than normal heart rate; heart contracts fewer than 60 times/min
Bronchoscopy
Visualize the inside of the airways of diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Inserted into the airways, usually through the nose or mouth, or occasionally through a tracheostomy
Capnography
Also known as end-tidal CO2 monitoring, it provides instant information about how effectively CO2 is eliminated by
the pulmonary system, how effectively it is transported through the vascular system, and how effectively CO2 is produced by
cellular metabolism. Capnography is measured near the end of exhalation.

Cheyne-Stokes Respiration
Occurs when there is decreased blood flow or injury to the brain stem
Diaphragmatic breathing
Respiration in which the abdomen moves out while the diaphragm descends on inspiration
Dysthymia
Deviation from the normal pattern of the heartbeat
Embryonic stage
Prenatal development includes the development of embryo and of the fetus. 6 week period in which the three layered embryo develops
Endotracheal
Occurring within or performed by way of the trachea
Eupnea
Normal respirations that are quiet, effortless, and rhythmical
Febrile
Elevated body temperature
Fetal stage
Prenatal human being between the embryonic stage and birth. Extends from the beginning of the ninth week after fertilization to about 38 weeks after fertilization which is the average time of birth
